Road to Recovery

As Alberta and the rest of Canada begin to lessen restrictions and move towards life after COVID-19, we have developed our own Road to Recovery. This plan is dependent on Chief Medical Officer of Health's Orders and Alberta's Relaunch Strategy.

It is important to note that in these uncertain times, we cannot plan perfectly and at any time activities and services may be restricted again. As we learn more, we will update the activities under each stage.

Pandemic Stage

From the onset of the COVID-19 crisis, CALA and The Bethany Group have sought to protect residents and staff from any potential exposure and outbreak. Any orders received from the Chief Medical Officer of Health (CMOH) have been implemented not just in the sites under the order but applied in other areas as a best practice. These measures, while often restrictive, were implemented for the health and safety of our most vulnerable population under these circumstances. We have always striven to work with our residents, their families, and staff members to create as healthy and safe environments as possible.

Relaunch Stage 1

While some restrictions are lessened at some sites, we also are preparing for the return of a few services and activities that were deferred during the pandemic stage. It is important to note that any proposed reintroduction of activities may be put on hold if the climate changes or we are given new orders from the Chief Medical Officer of Health.

Relaunch Stage 2

While we follow the course of Alberta's Relaunch Strategy, we also keep vigilant for any possible cases. More services and activities may be introduced while other services started in Stage 1 with restrictions may see a return to normal.

New Normal (Stage 3)

The New Normal may see some restrictions still as part of new procedures and protocols from Alberta Health Services - all intended to ensure the health and safety of residents. In other sites, we hope to see life continue as it had before the pandemic.
